Zumba is one of the newest group workout classes to take the world by storm! Zumba brings fun, music and high energy to your workout. If you can move your feet back and forth and turn around, you can do Zumba!

What- Zumba is a hear-pumping cardio workout that fuses Latin and international music together. It was founded in the ‘90s by Alberto “Beto” Perez, a fitness instructor originally from Colombia.

Why- Looking for a workout that’s fun, exhilarating and gets your body moving? Look no further! Zumba offers an intense and fun cardio workout. Students can typically burn 400-600 calories per class depending on the amount of energy that is put into the class.

Who- Persons of all ages are welcome to do Zumba! Zumba is a fun work out class for every one of all shapes, sizes and gender. You don’t have to have any “dance” experience to participate in a Zumba class, just a love of moving and grooving to fun and upbeat music. Zumba currently offers 8 different classes that are tailored to specific categories and types of people. For example Zumba Gold is tailored for specifically for baby boomers and “active older adults” and Aqua Zumba is great for persons with joint problems.

Wear- Come dressed in comfortable aerobic clothes and bring a good pair of sneakers! Since you are going to be moving, pivoting, and sliding, you need sneakers with a lot of support. Also don’t forget to bring a water bottle and a towel (you are going to sweat!).
