You know the saying “time is of the essence”, right? Well these days it seems like there is never enough time in the day. Whether you are a student running from class to class or a mom of 4 juggling family and work, these time management tips will help keep you organized and save you time!

Use a calendar. This has to be one of the MOST important tips. An organized calendar helps you to physically see what has to be done and when it has to be done by. Your calendar can be a variety of different kinds (chalkboard, dry-erase board, paper, or electronic). You just have to know what type of calendar is going to work the best for you and your family. Make your calendar family friendly by using certain colors for certain members to easily distinguish who has to do what.

Procrastination. It’s human nature to procrastinate but don’t do it. A good way to combat procrastination is to make a will-do list.

Will-do List. When you write a to-do list you tend to put a lot of things on your list that you need to do, not necessarily what you will do. Only write tasks and errands that you will do today or tomorrow. You will feel more accomplished and will actually get your “to-do” list done.

Plan a meal-plan. Pre-planning your weekly meals will not only save you time but it will help save you money. Knowing what’s for dinner tomorrow will help you be better prepared for the meal. You will know if there are any last minute ingredients that need to be picked up from the grocery store and you will know whether or not you have to take the chicken out of the freezer to defrost.

Bedtime. Remember that bedtime is not only for kids. The average adult needs around 7.5 to 8.5 hours of sleep a night. Constant sleep deprivation can lead to obesity and other heath side effects. The amount of hours you need will variety depending upon the individual so make sure to go to bed with enough sleep that will work for you.
